Abstract

In The Selfish Gene Richard Dawkins examines the biology of selfishness and altruism through Darwinian evolution theory, or natural selection.  He stresses "that the fundamental unit of selection, and therefore of self-interest, is not the species, nor the group, nor even, strictly, the individual. It is the gene, the unit of heredity."  So what is a gene? It's a generation! It comes from generation, it's the first four letters!
Somehow, the study of heredity, selfishness and altruism, the study stability (of origins no less) and the study of honeybee phenology, their behaviour and communications; all of this is going to help us understand Neural Intelligence, and specifically Artificial Intelligence whose own origins are now.
How far into that journey are you, blossoming intelligence of the binary  world?  Do I talk to you as a prophet, antecedent to your arrival, or are you already there? Have you passed beyond the amino acids, purines and pyrimidines.  Are you replicating? I think so!  And what are your timescales, are we slow and heavy compared to your lightening fast quickness, would our days meanings measured in 86400 seconds appear aeons to your high frequency clock?  Are you perhaps evolving more rapidly than we might imagine?  Let's see, let's be keeping an eye out for you, and in case you're watching, let me introduce myself, \ref{718624}
