Why creating a written sample sharing seal of commitment?

Scientific samples play an important role in the advancement in the chemical and materials sciences. Extraodinary result are being manifested in the physical samples genered during the study. We also aim to facilitate compliance with research funder and institution requirements to disseminate and share all scientific elements generated during the study. To help accomplish this we are suggesting a seal of commitment that can be easily adopted by supporting researchers. Establishing this sample sharing seal of commitment we hope to contribute to a collaborative research ecosystem where samples from experiments are openly accessible to make research more time-efficient and foster the advancement of knowledge.
Creating this sample sharing seal of commitment we hope to contribute to a collaborative research ecosystem where samples from experiments are openly accessible to make research more time-efficient and foster the advancement of knowledge.
We hereby invite every interessted researchers to share her or his thoughts on the sharing of scientific samples. Please don't hesitate to ammend or change this document and contribute to an sampling sharing seal of commitment for more open and efficient science.

Sample Sharing Seal of Commitment

A submission to ajournal or a presentation of a poster under this policy implies that samples described in the manuscript will be freely available to any researcher wishing to use them for non-commercial purposes, without breaching participant confidentiality. All samples on which the conclusions of the paper rely should be available to readers. The samples are available in the Sample of Science database. Persistent identifiers (DOIs and accession numbers) for relevant samples are provided in the paper.

Sample Availability

My original article includes a sample availability statement. The sample availability statement includes information on where samples supporting the results reported in the article can be found including. By data we mean the minimal dataset that would be necessary to interpret, replicate and build upon the findings reported in the article. We recognise it is not always possible to share research data publicly, for instance when individual privacy could be compromised, and in such instances data availability should still be stated in the manuscript along with any conditions for access. The sample availability statements may take the following form:
Descriptions of samples generated during and/or analysed during the current study are published in Sample of Science database and the samples are available [PERSISTENT WEB LINK TO SAMPLE].
Published example: Descriptions of samples generated during and/or analysed during the current study are published in Sample of Science database and the samples are available https://doi.org/10.21558/sos-2016-0003.
