Abstract
I am a third year student at McMaster University, currently enrolled in Engineerin\cite{1}g Physics and Society. I have taken this course as an elective that may contribute towards a minor in Astronomy, corresponding to part of my role as an Engineering Society student, as we are encouraged to pursue a minor of our choice. In reality, however, things are very much reversed, as I have primarily entered into the Society program as a way of balancing my interests for engineering and physics with my passion for astronomy. As I grew up, a love of mythology and physics came together as I learned how the night sky had been the inspiration of so many of my favourite stories, and I began to research what we know and don't know about the world around us. Now, this class will hopefully be a big step towards my goal of achieving a graduate degree in Astrophysics and establishing a career in searching for answers to the cosmological questions that mystify so many of us.
