Discussion
This report showed a clear relation between the number of foreigners and the number of police interventions for vernier, geneva (figure 1). Therefore it goes along with other publications of the past (Ausländerkriminalität in der Schweiz).
At this point one has to focus on the weaknesses of the method and data used to investigate the meaningfullness of figure 1. The main weakness is, that the total number of foreigners is strongly correlated to the total number of inhabitants within the same area. With a higher number of inhabitants, the number of offenses increases. This relation has been shown in several publications in the past such as \citet{Glaeser_1999}. In addition to that, the year in which the data for the foreigners was raised is not the same as the time in which the police interventions have been listed.
To avoid the weaknesses mentioned there are further investigations needed not looking at the total number of foreigners but at the ratio between foreigners and total inhabitants. In addition to that, one could also differentiate between european and non-european foreigners.
Another publication by Samuel Schiess from 2017 \cite{schiess2017} investigates the influence of crimilarity on population growth. The results obtained in this report will also be integrated in further investigations.
Crime induced by foreigners is a very current topic in worldwide politics and media. Right-wing parties do not adress this topic without reason. Politicians will have to find solutions to reduce the crimilarity of foreigners. But one always has to be aware, that the main reason for crime is, most often, social or financial inequalities and inadequate integration. This relation between social and financial problems and crime was shown in many publications such as \citet{hagan1995}. It is therefore essential for further politics to improve their integration work, which will then reduce the problamatic of crime caused by foreigners.
