Citibike is operating in New York City as a bike sharing company. This article investigates the Citibike user travel pattern based on distance, whether long distance trips are more likely to happen in the weekend than short distance trips. Z test of proportion is used to measure the proportion short distance on weekend / total rides vs. proportion of long distance on weekend/total rides. The result shows that in January 2015 the long distance is less likely to happen than short distance trip. Meanwhile, another result from July 2015 shows otherwise, where the long distance is more likely to happen than shorter distance trip. This result occurs probably because it is affected by the weather condition in both months.
