I will describe four topics in this paper, these are more like primers than exploratory topics with concrete topics. These are as follows:
- Network meta analysis
- Genome wide association studies
- structural equation modelling
- time series analysis
These four types of studies are important for epidemiology and health sciences and a clear concept is needed for these studies. Network meta analysis extends regular meta analysis by allowing multiple interventions to be analysed within th the framework of a mea emt meta analysis. Genome wide association studies are studies are those where single nucleotide polymorphisms are explored tobe associated with traits usually in case control study designs; besides, SNP information are then collated across GWAS studies and weighted to add up to form polygenic risk scores and evaluated as such. Structural equation modelling is a path analysis tool where relationship between variables are analysed using matrices of data. time series analysis and longitudinal studies are studies where individuals are followed up over a period of time and changes in the outcomes are studied.
