Introduction

Healthcare costs, personal remote cardiac monitoring: accurate artifact free detection of R-peaks, HR & HRV monitoring for human performance for health, athletic, & military applications, some medical applications based on HR & HRV including rapid detection of significant cardiac variations with instantaneous alarms and communications to host with further communications to remote monitoring and emergency services, efficient operation with silent background operation when parameters meet preset values, and efficient secure communications to host and from host to other monitoring systems. Must put our device into context with the Army Research Laboratory’s procedure for calculating ****(I cannot remember what parameter) based on skin temperature and HR/HRV. This will be a little tricky because we do not have much in the way of results from the thermistors!!!! We might be able to demonstrate this using an accurate measure of skin temperature derived from an off-monitor thermometer. It would take a little effort but might be worth it. It would only require measurements from a couple of volunteers and would have to be calculated onboard the HPM. It would also be a strong political move with respect to the military and might open up ARL as a potential funding source.
