There have been major environmental movements centered around saving the planet (think Earth Day). These movements [examples] have been key in bringing to light environmental issues and inspiring action. At the same time, they detract from the most important impact of climate change - the detriment and danger to humanity itself. This is undoubtedly a selfish perspective, but that may very well be in our nature. Our climate change-inducing actions serve to hurt us down the road, not just the Earth. In fact, the Earth has dealt with much worse, and will float on without us.

We need to save this Earth, but not for the sake of saving it, but for the sake ourselves. We need to be firing off all our flares and broad
