Abstract

For the south area of Chile, the toughest season of the year is winter. As an inhabitant of this area due to experience and personal understanding, one of the most common problems is the amount of contamination caused by the heating of traditional oxidizing agents mostly produced by residential areas (over 90% of the total). Traditional heating systems need to generate caloric energy through non-renewable resources like wood as primary fuel. Thinking in the generation of energy for heating, nowadays there are renewable means or technologies that avoid the direct impact to the environment. Although it is easy to think how to produce it we also need to know how to preserve it. One possible option is through thermal improvements to households which optimize the energetic resource as an individual entity. Once this objective is accomplished, a system of centralized energetic distribution that delivers heating to households through a “shared distribution system” is proposed, allowing not only to maintain or settle the necessity, but also to optimize the energetic resource.
