A storytelling digital artwork

The first image depicts the arid expanse of the Atacama Desert where the seismic instrumentation is deployed, effectively capturing the essence of field operations and the unique geological landscape. The second image shows the seismic stations, highlighting the meticulous approach taken to ensure comprehensive regional coverage. The third artwork depicts the similarities between the ancient indigenous cultures that traveled across the desert to deliver important messages and the region's earthquakes that provide invaluable information from the Earth's interior. Next, the fourth and fifth artworks communicate the data analysis, providing a compelling illustration of the subsurface layers and highlighting the methods used in this investigation. Finally, the final artwork focuses on the people who make this project possible. Through a metaphorical representation, we emphasize the concept of "earthquake hunters" who follow the shaking of the earth to reveal the secrets of the subsurface.
Through a fusion of geophysical investigation and artistic expression, this novel approach to dissemination resonates with diverse audiences and transcends traditional scientific communication methods. The integration of indigenous pictographs and digital watercolors not only enhances understanding of the Earth's complexities, but also pays homage to the region's cultural heritage. The present work describes the strategy used to create and disseminate these Sci-comm products. This creative endeavor aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and artistic representation, while disseminating seismological findings with broader societal impact.
