With the advent of IoT and wearable devices, mHealth can improve the quality and cost of healthcare worldwide. In this article, we focus on the interoperability and data exchange between such devices and electronic health record (EHR) systems. We study one framework, Open mHealth, in detail, and discuss whether it has the potential to become a widely used standard.
